
Pamir Mountains – Mountain Range In Central Asia
Pamir Mountains have been considered among the world’s highest mountains which are hailing in central Asia. These are playing a role of heart in the most famous mountain ranges like Himalaya, Karakorum, Kunlun and Hindukash.
These are lying on Ismail samani peak with an elevation of 7,495 meters. These are also called “roof of the world” because when we use to see it using a satellite we will find a large quadrangle frame of mountains. In some region the Pamir Mountains are called “Onion range” but the word Pamir is famous in the world. Pamir Mountains are attached with Tajikistan and Afghanistan and to the north they lie in Kyrgyzstan.
At their south they stand in the northern province of Pakistan, Gilgit Baltistan and also connect with the china’s border. Pamir Mountains are rich in glaciers which include the world’s greatest glacier outside of the polar region. Most of the time the Pamir mountains stand with full snow fall and being very cold throughout the year but these are also having small meadows with little trees and grass due to a little hot in summer and have been using as pastures.
Pamir Mountains are having coal and gemstones and are source of income for the local people. Pamir mountains are divided into several parts as the great Pamir, little Pamir, Taghdumbash, Tashkurgan, wakhan, Alichur,yashil kul, sarez and Khargush Pamir.
They are also having a river in its south which is called Pamir River. The ancient Silk Road passes through these Mountains. The way to mountains is one of the highest international roads of the world and called Pamir highway. In the history these mountains had been used the bases of US and Indian military where some conquerors used it for invasions also.
It has been tourist attracting natural destinations which receive hundreds of tourist from far away countries.
